DOUBLE B PRODUCTIONS, LLC – BARREL BASH RULES

Rules apply to Hawki Futurity AND all Barrel Bash and Snowbird Productions LLC events)

  • WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY ENTRY FOR ANY REASON. Inappropriate behavior by contestants or spectators may require us to ask you to leave the grounds (if this happens there will be no refunds).
    2. No REFUNDS after pre entry deadline for any reason.
    3. Dress Code long sleeved shirt – western boots. (western hats/helmets optional) no ball caps stocking caps allowed and grounds for disqualification. Hat fine $10 if you lose your hat and must be paid to barrel setter to get your hat back. You are NOT required to wear a western hat.
    4. Horse substitutions AND rider subs allowed until start of race Fri. After that horse OR rider subs allowed if done before start of race, with  $5 fee per change. After start of race Fri you CANNOT “sell” your spot. Changes must be made BEFORE the first horse runs in each race. NO CHANGES allowed after start of race. (exceptions may be made if a rider or horse is injured before they run and decision will be made at discretion of judge and/or show manager). ANY CHANGE THAT MAY AFFECT A YOUTH CARRY OVER ENTRY ON SAT MUST BE MADE NO LATER THAN 11 AM SAT!
    5. No switching of draw positions. HORSE MUST RUN IN POSITION DRAWN! Draw in the official program book shall be the official draw and shall take precedence over online draw. Horse and rider changes will be noted on official’s sheet.
    6. All reruns will be the decisions of the Arena Director. Rerun will be on fresh drag. Arena Director’s decisions are FINAL. In the case of a timer malfunction rider will be offered a re-run. PRIOR PENALTIES WILL APPLY. If rider chooses to run again any penalties made during re-run WILL apply to official time.
    7. Failure to answer 3 gate calls will result in Officials scratch. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN OFFICIALS SCRATCH. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST CHECK IN WITH GATE OFFICIAL THEMSELVES PRIOR TO RUNNING OR THE MAY BE SUBJECT TO DQ. (note …at some locations we require you be in the holding pen PRIOR to the start of your drag check with gate official prior to running for ground rule at each event regarding this issue) Safety of you your horse and other riders is a main concern to us. If you have safety issues please talk to the gateman so that we can work with you PRIOR to making your run..
    8. A horse may enter each race only once. (Exception for family rule.)  To qualify for family rule each rider can only enter on ONE horse applies to children living at home under 21 and parents. Neither “family member” may run any additional horses. This is a hardship rule for family members sharing a horse.
    9. Contestants will receive a no time for knocking over a barrel or breaking the pattern.
    10. A tie for awards will be handled by a flip of a coin between contestants tied. ANY CHANGES OR CORRETIONS TO SIDEPOT ENTRIES MUST BE MADE BEFORE END OF RACE. ONCE RESULTS ARE POSTED FOR SIDEPOT CHANGES WILL NOT BE MADE TO THE RESULTS.
    11. $20 processing fee required (once per contestant, per weekend).  Those competing in the youth 3D only are NOT required to pay a processing fee. Those paying online by credit card (or reserving stalls online will be charged the processing fee PLUS 5% online fee – neither of these two fees are refundable at any time for any reason.
    12. $15 per rider per day late fee if entry not post marked by entry closing date. Late entries must be received by draw #100 (smaller races we may change this number check with office to be sure of closings for late entries). Late fees must be cash only. Late entries will have a separate draw and run after pre-entries. Late fee maximum is $30/rider per weekend or $15/day per rider.
    13. Number of places paid per race: (100 & under pays 5 places)(101-149 6 places) (150-250 entries: 8 places)( 251-399 entries: 10 places) (400-499 entries: 12 places)( 500 & over entries: 15 places)  To qualify for year end awards in open rider MUST compete in 4 different Barrel Bash events. To qualify for year end awards in futurity or derby horse must have been entered in those sidepots at a minimum of 4 Barrel Bash events. (awards given on Sun at Nov Columbia Mo event) Season ends Sat and Columbia in Nov and begins on Sun at Columbia.
  • SIDEPOTS – to enter you MUST enter the open race for that day (you run in the open and carry your time over to the sidepot for the sidepot payout). FUTURITY is open to any horse 5 & Under that has not competed in barrel racing prior to Dec 1 (previous year). Payback for futurity is 2D full sec split. DERBY is open to any horse 7 or under that is not futurity eligible. Derby payback is straight open payback (no divisions). ADULT – sidepot is open to anyone 20-49 years of age as of Jan 1. Payback is 3D full sec split. SENIOR is open to anyone 50 + as of Jan 1. Payback is 3D full sec split.
  • YOUTH – is a separate race (2nd day only) open to anyone 19 & Under as of Jan 1. Payout is 3D full sec split. Youth that wish to enter same horse in the open that day MUST carry their time FROM youth race TO the open (they do not get to run twice). Any prior penalties WILL apply.
    14. 75% payback, 100% added money. Each race is separate payoff. There is NO average payoff.  We will take out $1 per run that will go towards the BONUS RACE FINALS 100% of the bonus race added money will be paid back (this is what the $1/run is for)

  • Delivery/Timing Method - Online Entry & Payment is immediate upon form submission.
  • Refund Policy - No refunds - entries may be sold (substituted as outlined in the Barrel Bash Rules through 6pm first day of race)
  • Privacy Policy - We collect information from you so that we can enter you in the barrel race and contact you regarding any questions that may arrive with your entry. We need association membership numbers so that we can properly track your points with associations you may hold memberships in. We use your address to follow up with future mailings regarding events that we hold. We DO NOT sell our list or allow outside entities to use our lists. We ask for social security numbers (and a completed w9 form) before we can issue any winnings. 1099’s are issued (required by IRS) at the end of the year to anyone winning over $600. We ask for registered names of your horses so that we may turn results into Equi Stat for tracking. Our newsletters (email) have an opt-out option that will remove you immediately from our email list if you do not wish to receive further emails from us.
