RULES
1. BRIF reserves the right to refuse any foal OR stallion nomination for any reason.
2. All disputes shall be decided by the managers of BRIF.
3. Barrel Racing Incentive Fund reserves the right to alter the conditions of all or part of the program as it, in its sole discretion, Barrel Racing Incentive Fund may cancel the program at any time and refund money, excluding interest, for any reason.
4. A current listing of all eligible foals that are named and paid in full will be listed on our website www.barrelracingincentivefund.com
5. Events for the upcoming year will be listed on website by March 1
6. In order for a horse to be eligible for BRIF incentive money they must make entry to the open sponsoring event, and complete the following
1. On entry form, designate BRIF horse next to horses REGISTERED NAME
2. Supply copy of horse's papers showing current owner with each entry
3. Have a current year w9 form on file with BRIF office (must be done before winnings will be issued)
PROGENY NOMINATIONS
Any horse (by BRIF stallion that was newly nominated in the current year) may grandfather into this program for a onetime fee of $150 until Sept 1, of said year. After this date the following fees shall apply. NO REFUNDS SHALL BE ISSUED FOR ANY REASON (except in the case of rule #3 above)
Weanlings & Yearlings - $150 (paid for life) (due by Dec 1 yearling year)
Two Year Old - $250 (paid for life) (due by Dec 1 of Two Year Old Year)
Three Year Old - $350 (paid for life) (due by Dec 1 of Three Year Old Year)
Four & Over - $450 (paid for life)
STALLION NOMINATIONS
Fees shall be $325/year (20% held out for administration) ( the remaining fees used for BRIF &HFBI bonus monies)for those stallions enrolling in the BRIF program. ANY progeny of newly enrolled stallions (new meaning current year is first time they have been in the BRIF) will have a chance to grandfather into our program until Sept 1 of the year the stallion nominates for a one-time fee of $150. Stallions themselves may be a part of the BRIF program themselves (even if their own stallion isn’t nominated) by paying the $150 fee as well. Stallion owners are encouraged to provide those with foals information on the BRIF program and list our link on their own websites as well. All nominated stallions will be listed on the BRIF website.
BRIF FUNDS
· All money received will be put into a savings account.
· All foal nomination fees will be held in security deposit until their 4 year old year in which the foals are eligible for bonus money. An administration fee of 20% of nomination fees paid per horse will be deducted in the year of payment for promotion and administering the program with remaining 80% being distributed as bonus money. Nomination fees from foals 4 and over will have the 20% office charge taken out when payment is made. Newly enrolled stallion’s progeny (any age) may grandfather into the program (the first year stallion is enrolled) for a fee of $150 (regardless of age)
· Bonus money will be distributed by the BRIF office. A current year w9 must be on file from the owner for checks to be issued. All checks will be issued in the name of the current owner.
· Events will be chosen by BRIF. There will NOT be more than one BRIF event held on the same weekend. Events and bonus money for the upcoming year will be announced by Mar 1.
· Bonus money will be given to OPEN EVENTS only and paid out on a 2D (full sec split) format. (note if 16 or less entries are made a straight open format will be used in place of the divisional format). When a divisional format is used a clean run must be made (with a qualified time) in order to receive a check. In the case that there are less than 16 entries and a straight open payback is used a 5 second penalty shall be accessed for a down barrel.
